Feedback from a professional magazine creater

I showed the cover, contents page and double page spread to a professional magazine Creator (Phil) and got feedback from him. the gave me both compliments and improvements to make to my work. this allowed me to further improve my work so it was more like a professional standard, the compliments he gave me where, the cover was well set out and the images where clear and of a high standard. Also the the images on the double page spread where well lit and clear, this allowed him to point out any changes that could be made to the text and fonts on all pages.

Some of the improvements that he gave me where, the font size on the double page spread was to big so make it smaller and add columns and paragraphing. This would allow the pages to have more information on them and be more interesting for the viewers to read. Also the layout of the page would be better if it was all to do with one artist, as the middle film strip made them look like they where about the same artist.

The improvements that he gave me for the contents page are:
  •  add more features to the contents
  • use pull-outs to make features standout
  • make the text smaller so more text can be added
  • pull some text closer to each other so it make it more obvious that they are together
Some of the changes that can be made to the cover are add some more text to it is clear what is being said. Also pull text closer together so they look like they are meant to be together and move one of the picture so it is better placed and looks like it is from the same photo.

I can easily make these improvements using photoshop, because the text and changes can be made easily and to a professional standard. Also I can make all the changes at one time which allows me to time to review and modify the magazine again to ensure that it is the best it can be.
